Getting Started

Thinking of adding a Service dog to your treatment plan? Here's what you need to do:
  • Talk to your supports. Therapists, doctors, and family.
  • Get familiar with your rights. Check out the government website for all your information.
  • Reach out to a qualified trainer to help with the search and screening of potential dogs.
  • Make a list of pros and cons and needs for your dog to assist you. We arent breed specific but be aware that depending on your tasks needed, you will need a dog to fit those needs.
  • Puppies take up to 2 years to be trained and young adults can take up to 1.5 years depending on foundational skills.

***NOT ALL dogs can be service dogs. Just like not all people can be doctors. Keep this in mind during this journey.
